A Few Words About Us
Our Story
Beijing Yunzhi Musical Instrument Co., Ltd was founded in 1989 in Tongzhou District, Beijing. For over 35 years, we have devoted ourselves to the art and craft of making fine string instruments entirely by hand.
Specializing in violins, violas, cellos, and double basses, we offer instruments ranging from student models to master-grade soloist violins. Our 8,000 m² workshop is home to more than 80 experienced luthiers who inherit centuries-old European traditions while continuously innovating. We select only the finest naturally aged tonewoods and apply proprietary varnishing techniques perfected since 2005, ensuring each instrument delivers a warm, powerful, and expressive voice that matures beautifully over time.
At Yunzhi, we believe a great instrument is a musician’s lifelong companion and the soul of music itself.

“Yunzhi’s viola has become my voice on stage. Its depth in the lower register and brilliant C-string projection allow me to shape phrases exactly as I hear them in my head. I never expected to find this level of maturity and responsiveness from a modern maker.”
